My therapeutic approach is rooted in empathy, compassion, and clear communication. I work to create a steady, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment or pressure.
Because people and problems are complex, I do not believe in a one‑size‑fits‑all model. I draw from person‑centered therapy, mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, cognitive‑behavioral strategies, psychoeducation, and therapeutic journaling or artistic expression, all within a trauma‑informed and holistic perspective. Together we will decide what feels most helpful and adjust as your needs change.
When you invest in counseling out of pocket, you deserve care that is respectful of both your time and your resources. I am transparent about my fees, and focus on practical, sustainable changes rather than endless sessions with no clear direction. We will regularly check in about your intentions and progress so you can see how therapy is serving you.
I earned a BA in Psychology from the University of Arizona and an MA in Rehabilitation Counseling from Western Washington University. I am a nationally certified rehabilitation counselor (CRC) and a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in Washington State. My training includes research on mindfulness and vocational rehabilitation counselor burnout, and I continue to follow current evidence to inform my work.
Clients often tell me they appreciate my calm, thoughtful style and straightforward feedback. I will listen closely, offer perspective when it is useful, and collaborate with you on clear next steps between sessions.
If you are considering starting therapy and paying privately, or through your health insurance payer, I am glad to answer your questions about fit, fees, and what to expect in our work together.
